Alpe di Siusi Holidays
Alpe di Siusi holidays will be a very good idea for culture fans, as on this plateau massif witches met, accompanied by sorcerers, dwarfs, leprechauns, giants, water nymphs and so on. In the Middle Ages this led to “witches hunt”, unfortunately; but nowadays, witches are such a big part of the Alpe di Siusi folklore and legends, that everyone wants to know more about them during their holidays in the Dolomites! In May there’s even a gastronomic week dedicated to witches; they are not the symbol of Alpe di Siusi holidays, as many tourism portals and brochures portray them while flying on their broomsticks.
Natural gastronomy in the mountains
The mountain resort of Fié allo Sciliar (German: Völs am Schlern), one of the Alpe di Siusi ski resorts, organizes two gastronomic weeks in mid-June dedicated to natural gastronomy, as in this period many vegetables are ripe. During your Alpe di Siusi holidays in June this gastronomic week is a “must” if you pay attention to your well-being…or if you want to have the proof that “healthy gastronomy” doesn’t absolutely mean tasteless food or a penitence for your stomach.
