Alpe di Siusi
The Alpe di Siusi (German: Seiser Alm, Ladin Mont Sëuc), are very comfortable and their hospitality level is always very high, even if you book your holidays in Italy in a renovated farm. A part of it is dedicated to guests, while the peasant family still lives in the other part; they breed cattle and cultivates herbs and other typical products according to the organic farming rules. Organic agriculture is one of the strong points of Alpe di Siusi, the sunniest plateau in South Tyrol, which kept its tradition intact till nowadays.
The Alpe di Siusi witches
Your holidays in the mountains will be even more charming thanks to a bit of mystery. The Alpe di Siusi witches have become the mascot of this tourism region in South Tyrol; a gastronomic week at the end of August is dedicated to them. On the Bullaccia (German: Puflatsch) plateau they still have their benches, where they sit and enjoy the Dolomites panorama. The “Witches and Magic” (Italian: “Streghe e magia”) initiative is a very good idea for South Tyrol family holidays; children can get acquainted with the South Tyrolean legends, accompanied by mum and dad; many dwarfs and goblins live here! The witch Martha welcomes children to South Tyrol: she’s not bad at all…she teaches children even the forest secrets and to respect it.
